Only a month to go!

We're down to the final weeks! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, and that starts my weekly checkups. My last one was about a week and a half ago, and she said everything is just as it should be. At 34 weeks I measured about 35 cm from top to bottom of my belly, which is just where all the books are telling me I should be. I have definitely noticed the swelling ankles and feet--almost to the point of it hurting at the end of the day. I try to elevate, but even as of the next morning, they're still swollen! That, and forgetfulness, are the least enjoyable side effects of pregnancy, but I'm still enjoying this special time in my life.

It's been really weird lately to feel the baby moving around, because I'm starting to be able to identify different body parts pushing outward--a butt here, a knee there, and a whole shin sometimes! It's really amazing--even when he keeps me up at night.

I had my baby shower on Jan 18, and it was really fun. I'm so thankful for having such great friends. And my best friend, Elissa, took care of planning and making the whole thing happen. I'm so blessed! We got sooo much clothing for the baby, I don't know if he'll ever get through it all before he outgrows it! But it was great. Take a look at the slide show! My dad braved a crowd of women to be camera-man--he's the best dad EVER!!!!!

Jon's been working out of town for way too long now--I'm really starting to miss his company. He's home when he can be (usually on the weekends), but only communicating with him by phone or computer is getting old. I'll be glad when he's back in town for a while. I suppose it is good for him to still be working right now, though, with the various job losses our county as a whole has been experiencing.

Well, I think that's about it for now. Thanks for reading!
