Well, it's been almost a month since I last posted, and things are going just fine. The only major development. I had to do a glucose test (had to drink the weird orange soda stuff) and get my blood drawn last Friday. I got a call from my doctor on Monday, and she said my levels were elevated. BUMMER! She explained that the placenta raises the glucose levels and causes some insulin resistance, but I don't need any help with that! So, she said to come in and have the 3 hour test. I was able to get in on Veteran's Day (yesterday), so that was good. So, as you may know, my doctor is all the way in Portland. I get down there yesterday, and the lab tech asks if I ate breakfast. Well, of course I did! It's the most important meal of the day! BUT for this 3 hour test, I was supposed to do a 12 hour fast. My doctor told me backwards (it's the 1 hour test that doesn't require a fasting period). So I got to drive all the way back home...one hour there, 20 minutes in the office, and one hour back. Good times. So I have an appointment again on the 18th. I'll be sure to fast for this one!

But having to take this test in the first place may be an indicator of gestational diabetes. I don't want to have to poke and prod myself, but it's the best for me and the baby. There are birth complications with babies born to mothers with diabetes, and I certainly don't want that. Everything's been so perfect so far!

Oh, and I found out on Friday that my doctor is leaving her practice to go work at Kaiser Permanente. Good for her, bad for me. She's been my favorite doctor ever!!! But my new doctor seems to be just as wonderful, and I like the fact that each doctor has their own assistant. So I get to know both doctor and MA.

I have started to feel my SON! kick a LOT in the last few weeks. I can especially tell when I eat something...about 2 minutes later, he really starts to kick me. He prefers to kick my bladder, making it feel like I have to pee. It's loads of fun. But every time I put my hand to my belly and actually feel him kick, it puts a smile on my face. It's SUCH a miracle inside me! And what's really cool--Jon and Taylor have both been able to feel him kick as well. What a fun thing to share, and it'll only get stronger!

Well, I suppose that's it for now. Oh, there's a good kick!! I'll throw some pictures along with this that my best friend took. I love them! Hope you enjoy...
